New attraction: park chess at the Parkbad

The new attraction was made possible together with the club Schachburg Waidhofen/Ybbs, which pursues a clear mission: to inspire people of all ages for chess – from the first pawn move to rated blitz at international level.

“I am delighted that with the Schachburg Waidhofen/Ybbs a committed club in our town is making a new activity possible for all generations. Park chess is a wonderful enrichment of our leisure offering and gives our guests another way to enjoy the Parkbad,” says Mayor Werner Krammer.

The Schachburg Waidhofen/Ybbs brings together players of different experience and offers both hobby players and ambitious tournament players a platform. In addition to club evenings and training sessions, the club also organises the Waidhofen Chess Masters tournament series with the FIDE-rated Blitz Trophy and the Schloss Rothschild RAPID Open.

Club chairman Giorgio Gugler is pleased about the development in Waidhofen: “We are very happy about how warmly we have been welcomed in Waidhofen and how many supporters we have already won for our work. Park chess is a lovely way to bring even more people into contact with chess.”
